Under consultation with Examinations Council of Zambia, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID/Zambia), and the British Department for International Development (DFID), RTI International administered a survey to 4,855 grade 2 pupils across all 10 provinces of Zambia and all seven official local languages of instruction. Four hundred and eighty-six schools were included in the sample and were a mix of government (GRZ), grant-maintained, community, and private schools.
