This booklet deals with the problems and issues related to the development of schools curricula, and to their evaluation, dissemination and implementation in any educational system. Part I is concerned with the processes involved in the preparation of programme outlines (i.e. the specification of programme objectives, selection of content, and decisions regarding teaching-learning strategies). Part II is devoted to the creation of instructional materials (namely their organization and formative evaluation). Finally, Part III goes into the implementation of new programmes and how they are monitored and recycled. Various definitions and basic terms and concepts used in the context of curriculum work are presented in this text.
